About us

We make games we'd want to play on a Friday.

Garish Games started in 2017, in a flat above a kebab shop, with two people, a printer that hated us, and one prototype that wouldn't stop making us laugh. That prototype became Rescue Mac. We haven't stopped since.

We're a small, independent publisher. We don't make a hundred SKUs a year. We make a few games, very carefully, and we make them loud. Big colours, real designers, paid artists, and rulebooks you can actually finish reading.

Our games are sold through independent game stores around the world, plus direct from us. If you're a retailer, distributor, or convention organiser, we'd love to talk.

The crew

Five people, one printer, lots of opinions.

Jo Reyes

Founder & Publisher

Spent ten years in trade publishing before going off to make things you can hold. Believes a good rulebook is half the design.

Adesh Kumar

Head of Design

Develops every Garish title from prototype to print. Has strong opinions about turn structure and weak ones about meeple shapes.

Mira Vance

Art Director

Finds the illustrators. Pays them properly. Defends the colour palette to the death.

Theo Fox

Operations

Makes the boxes appear on shelves. Maintains a spreadsheet that is, frankly, beautiful.

How we work.

  • We pay artists upfront.

No royalty-only deals. No "exposure". A signed contract, half on signing, half on delivery.

  • We credit everyone on the box.

Designer. Artist. Developer. Editor. If your name belongs on the box, it goes on the box.

  • We don't use generative AI for art or writing.

Every illustration, every rule, every flavour line — written and drawn by humans we paid.

  • We print as locally as we can.

EU titles go through a press in Belgium. UK-only runs print in Cornwall. We avoid air freight wherever we can.
